INDIAN
INDIAN is a Pleasure Yacht engaged in the Italian “occasional charter” scheme (VAT exempt). INDIAN is an Explorer Vessel. The benefits of an Explorer Vessel are that it maximizes safety, in all types of weather with a large range, whilst minimizing fuel consumption. She is L.O.A 25 mt yacht, 7,5m wide, a 2,8m draft and her displacement is nearly 200 tons. With four bridges, her volume is equivalent to a 33m yacht. INDIAN excels with her long cruising range up to 4500 nautical miles and her stylish Italian interior design being at the same time a seaworthy vessel unique on her own. INDIAN has a max R.I.N.A. security ranking class ‘A’ for no limit navigation. “Green features“. Thanks to a considerable restructuring work, to a crew strongly interested in “environmental issues” and the protection of nature, Indian is gradually converting towards an increasingly “green” perspective, further reducing consumption including the introduction of LED lights for both interiors, exteriors and underwater lights, controls for energy dispersion and environmental impact as well as the use of a diesel purifier to have clean combustion and the use of natural materials with respect of the environment for its refits. In addition, the yacht uses only ceramic and glass plates and glasses, no plastic straws, etc. The use of plastic bottles is reduced to a minimum as there is a drinking water producer on board with which to fill the carafes for daily use. Key Features 1) With her almost 200 gross tons, Indian is a seaworthy and a total safe vessel which ensures a very comfortable navigation in ordinary sea conditions; 2) Her up to 4.500 miles range means that she can navigate everywhere with a great deal of autonomy and a low fuel consumption. A consumption of only 70 litres at 10.5 knots, allows 4500 nm autonomy, perfect for long navigations. At 7.5/8 kts ‘night regime’ consumption can be reduced to 16/20 lt x hr. 3) The 4.000 lt water tank and the 300 lt x hr double fresh water production systems allow unlimited water availability. A dedicated system provides the necessary daily amount of drinking water to guests and crew; 4) Speed stabilizers underway and at anchor result in extreme comfort and almost zero noise and vibration; 5) 3 fridges and 5 freezers give great autonomy for long navigations or events on board. The large exterior decks include dining areas, lounge spaces, an entertainment deck with full bar/BBQ and still leave room for up to a 21′ tender & additional toys. In the wheelhouse only the best technology & navigational equipment can be found and large windows offer fantastic visibility. High tech audio system such as Sonos distributes different music in any different internal and external area of the yacht. A satellite Internet and TV connection allow communication at any latitude. A professional level galley and the skill of the Chef will satisfy the most discerning guests Accommodation: INDIAN offers 4 spacious ensuite cabins for up to 9 guests. One full-beam 25 sq. mt aft Master suite , one fore Vip cabin, two Twin cabins (one of them with an extra bunk bed) all giving comfortable space for groups of family and friends. Each cabin has audio equipment with access to music via the yacht’s SONOS central system. Each cabin is also equipped with TV satellite communication system so to be able to watch TV at any latitude. Dining and entertaining on board of INDIAN is equally comfortable outside, both on the Upper deck with its BBQ, a 6 fires stove and the 10 seats dining table, than on the shaded Main deck where the two coffee tables can be converted to a dining table for up to 10 guests. In both cases the guests will enjoy the lovely view of the sea . Inside, a large 8 seats oval dining table in the salon will be used in all other occasions. Frequently Asked Questions
What is a yacht charter preference sheet, and why is it important for an Italy yacht charter?
A preference sheet is one of the most important documents for a crewed yacht charter because it allows the captain and crew to personalise the entire experience around your expectations before you step onboard. It typically includes details such as your food preferences, dietary requirements, allergies, favourite drinks, daily routines, activities, special occasions, and any specific requests you may have. For an Italy yacht charter, this is especially valuable because each region offers unique experiences. Whether you want a private chef preparing authentic Italian cuisine, specific wines from local regions, water activities for children, or restaurant recommendations along the Amalfi Coast, the preference sheet allows the crew to prepare everything in advance and create a seamless luxury experience.
What is the best destination for a yacht charter in Italy?
The best destination for an Italy yacht charter depends entirely on the type of experience you are looking for.The Amalfi Coast and Capri are ideal for guests seeking dramatic scenery, luxury restaurants, glamorous ports, and iconic Mediterranean destinations. Sardinia and Costa Smeralda are perfect for crystal-clear waters, secluded beaches, and luxury island hopping. The Aeolian Islands and Sicily offer volcanic landscapes, authentic villages, and unique cultural experiences, while the Italian Riviera and Tuscany combine elegant coastal towns with beautiful cruising routes.A private yacht allows you to experience multiple destinations in one journey, creating a completely personalised itinerary based on your interests.
How much does it cost to charter a yacht in Italy?
The cost of a yacht charter in Italy depends on several factors, including yacht type, size, season, destination, and level of luxury. As a general guide, fully crewed yacht charters in Italy typically start from around €15,000 to €25,000 per week for smaller sailing yachts and catamarans. Luxury motor yachts generally range from €40,000 to €150,000+ per week, while large superyachts can exceed €500,000+ per week.In addition to the base charter fee, guests should budget for additional expenses such as VAT, APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance), fuel, food, beverages, marina fees, and crew gratuities.
Should I choose a crewed or bareboat yacht charter in Italy?
A crewed yacht charter is the preferred choice for most guests visiting Italy, especially those looking for a luxury and stress-free experience. With a professional captain, chef, and crew onboard, every detail is handled while you focus on enjoying the journey.Bareboat charters are better suited for experienced sailors who hold the required licences and prefer complete independence. However, navigating Italy's busy coastal areas, marina reservations, and local regulations can be challenging without local expertise. For most travellers, a crewed charter offers the best combination of comfort, safety, and access to hidden destinations.
Can I charter a yacht in Italy for more than 12 guests?
Yes, but options are more limited. Most private charter yachts are legally restricted to a maximum of 12 guests due to international maritime regulations. For larger groups, Italy offers specialised solutions including larger superyachts, charter yachts designed for group travel, and multiple yacht arrangements. These options are ideal for weddings, corporate retreats, family reunions, and milestone celebrations.A yacht broker can help identify vessels that match your group size, preferred destination, and style of travel.
Are food, drinks, fuel, and other expenses included in an Italy yacht charter?

Most luxury yacht charters in Italy operate on a plus-expenses basis, meaning additional costs are covered through an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA).The APA typically covers expenses such as:FuelFood and beveragesMarina and port feesLocal taxes and permitsAdditional onboard servicesFor many sailing yachts and catamarans, some expenses may be included depending on the charter agreement. Your broker will provide a complete breakdown of all costs before booking.
How far in advance should I book an Italy yacht charter?
For the best selection of yachts, it is recommended to start planning your Italy yacht charter 6 to 12 months in advance, especially for peak summer months such as July and August.Popular destinations including the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Costa Smeralda, and the Aeolian Islands have high demand during the summer season, and the most desirable yachts with experienced crews often book early. However, last-minute opportunities can sometimes be available depending on yacht availability and travel dates.
